The Force Is With Us

We are trying this new parenting technique in our home. Every day if the kids do the chores required of them they get a sticker on their chart and if they get a certain amount of stickers in a row then they earn Smiley Faces (I know what you are thinking Burton Clan - but it worked for us didn't it). Well Anne had earned enough smiley faces to choose something to buy. She has really been wanting a Light Saber. A Light Saber you say - isn't that more of a boy toy? Now let me explain. Star Wars in our home has become the new "in thing" Because Zac has been off work this week they have been watching it a lot. (I only let them watch it with Zac around) So off to Walmart we went while Zac was in the Priesthood Session on Saturday to get Anne her blue Light Saber. Two Walmarts later we met with success. Pictured here are some of their recent battles with the evil Lord Sith, Daddy who asked how much the Light Sabers were because I think now he wants one too.
These are their best Jedi faces - I asked them to smile but they said Jedi don't smile.

My kids are into that too. At disneyland they had a Jedi training academy. It was awesome. Needless to say we came home with two light sabers. Every one of my kids are going to be Jedi for Halloween except Gabe (my 1 year old) who is going to be Yoda. I love the Jedi faces. Very cute.

Hehe I love the pictures!! Makes me miss you guys!!! Colin has been asking for one also but that is because he is going to be Luke Skywalker for Halloween. And Conner is going to be an Ewok. Though if you asked him, he says dinosaur but that is his everyday thing. He is still young enough for me to decide for him. Colin took a bit to convince but he is convinced now, mostly because of these pictures!! I love themed costumes.

I know several dads who have their own lightsabers. Go Zac! I've lost count of how many lightsabers we have in our house. They are great toys. May the Force be with you.:-)

Jedi do not smile...at least not when they are about to do deadly battle with Darth Zac.

I sense the Force is strong with these two. Obviously, these children are being raised right.

It's ok, Emma loves the light sabers too...oh, and she loves the boys toys almost more than her own girl toys. I get really excited when she actually plays with her doll. Our boys love STAR WARS!!!

I am excited for Hyrum to get to the Star Wars loving age (but it may take longer than I think, we were watching Pooh's Grand Adventure the other day and Pooh falls down a tunnel and Hyrum started bawling and pointing at the TV and yelling for Pooh, he was very worried about where Pooh went, he is a sensitive kid :) I had the hardest time not laughing and Jeremy and I laughed a long time afterwards) So anyway he may not be ready for something as intense as Star Wars for a while!
And I think you should definitely get Zac one too :)
